Enterprise AI adoption stalls as trust and context gaps persist

While 93% of data leaders at major North American firms are experimenting with AI, only 7% have moved beyond pilot programs. A new report from WisdomAI reveals that despite widespread initial integration, a critical lack of confidence in AI-generated answers keeps most organizations tethered to legacy reporting methods.

The survey, which polled over 200 executives from companies with at least $1 billion in annual revenue, highlights a persistent disconnect between experimentation and enterprise-wide implementation. Although AI is present in nearly every analytics department, 81% of these organizations still rely on traditional dashboards and manual data requests to drive decision-making. Only 19% of leaders report high confidence in the accuracy of AI-delivered insights.

Soham Mazumdar, CEO and co-founder of WisdomAI, notes that businesses are hesitant to abandon established systems until AI can reliably interpret specific business context. To bridge this gap, 94% of respondents plan to overhaul their internal systems for managing enterprise context over the next 18 months. Companies are now actively recruiting for specialized roles to oversee this transition, with one-third of organizations currently hiring for positions dedicated to enterprise context management.
