The expansion arrives as college graduates increasingly struggle with the financial weight of existing debt, which often delays milestones like homeownership or retirement savings. Archer aims to differentiate itself from commercial lenders by focusing on borrower-centric repayment plans rather than shareholder returns. The company is currently offering fixed interest rates starting as low as 4.25%, with no origination fees attached to its refinancing packages.
"Our goal has always been to help students and families responsibly finance education while providing flexibility and control of their financial futures," said Trey Simon, President and CEO of Archer. The organization brings over five decades of experience from its parent entity, the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation, to the Texas market. Beyond lower rates, the program includes personalized loan counseling and repayment structures tailored to individual budget constraints. Interested borrowers can submit applications through the company's online portal to begin the refinancing process.
