Antengene Reaches Profitability as Licensing Deals Fuel Growth

Antengene Corporation marked its first period of profitability in the first half of 2026, reporting 513 million RMB in revenue—an 864.5% surge compared to the previous year. The Shanghai-based biotech credits this financial milestone to a strategic pivot toward high-value global partnerships and the maturation of its internal R&D pipeline.

The company’s financial turnaround is anchored by two major licensing agreements that underscore its shift toward a partnership-driven business model. A global deal with UCB for the ATG-201 T-cell engager secured an upfront payment of 60 million USD, while a separate agreement with K2 Therapeutics for ATG-106 added approximately 20 million USD in near-term consideration. These inflows, combined with commercial revenue from its lead product XPOVIO, provided the capital necessary to sustain its clinical programs.

Antengene is currently prioritizing the advancement of ATG-022, a CLDN18.2 antibody-drug conjugate. Clinical data from the Phase II CLINCH study shows an objective response rate of 46.7% in moderate-to-high expression cohorts, with a favorable safety profile that supports the drug’s potential as a cornerstone therapy for gastric cancer. Beyond current assets, the company is leveraging its proprietary TriGager platform and AI-integrated R&D to target novel antigens, with plans to submit INDs for new candidates like the bispecific ADC ATG-125 in early 2027.
