The matchup, scheduled for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff on ESPN, anchors a broader weekend of events dedicated to HBCU culture, leadership, and education. Since its 2021 revival, the tournament has evolved into a significant economic driver for Miami-Dade County, contributing over $100 million in local impact and distributing more than $500,000 in scholarships.
Kendra Bulluck, executive director of the Orange Blossom Classic, noted that the continued collaboration highlights a shared mission to showcase HBCU excellence on a national stage. Chris Bode, CEO and President of Denny’s, added that the sponsorship aligns with the company’s ongoing investment in education-focused initiatives like the Hungry for Education program. Beyond the gridiron, the weekend serves as a hub for alumni and community engagement, reinforcing the classic's historical significance since its founding in 1933.
