National Airlines Expands Long-Haul Capacity with Fourth Boeing 777

At Boeing’s Everett production facility in Washington, National Airlines has officially taken delivery of its fourth Boeing 777-200 freighter, registered as N798CA. This acquisition marks a strategic push to bolster the carrier's global cargo footprint and enhance its ability to service long-haul, high-capacity international trade routes.

The new aircraft is slated to enter commercial service immediately, joining a diverse fleet that already includes nine Boeing 747-400 freighters alongside A330-300 and A330-200 passenger models. Chairman Christopher Alf noted that the addition significantly sharpens the airline's competitive edge, allowing for more flexible responses to complex global supply chain demands. The Boeing 777-200 is engineered to haul over 100 tonnes of cargo with a range of nearly 5,000 nautical miles, making it a workhorse for time-sensitive goods ranging from pharmaceuticals to heavy industrial equipment.

Established in 1991, the Orlando-based carrier operates as an FAA-certificated Part 121 air carrier. By maintaining hubs in key global markets—including Dubai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong—National Airlines manages a broad charter network that serves sectors as varied as defense, e-commerce, and aerospace. The integration of this fourth freighter is intended to scale these operations further, providing the capacity necessary to support high-value shipments across the company's extensive international trade lanes.
