Investors Target GoDaddy Over Undisclosed Promotional Pricing

A class action lawsuit filed against GoDaddy Inc. alleges the company misled shareholders by concealing a promotional discount strategy that severely hampered bookings growth. The litigation focuses on the period between September 3, 2025, and February 24, 2026, following a sharp decline in the company's stock price.

The complaint, brought by the law firm Robbins LLP, contends that GoDaddy failed to disclose a $4.99 promotional price for one-year domain contracts. This rate sat well below the standard $10 to $20 annual fee for multi-year agreements. Plaintiffs argue this strategy directly contradicted management’s public claims regarding the success of an AI-driven initiative aimed at attracting high-intent customers who typically spend $500 or more.

Market confidence faltered on February 24, 2026, when GoDaddy disclosed that fourth-quarter bookings growth had decelerated to 5%. During an earnings call, executives admitted that the promotional offer had triggered a shift in term mix, which reduced near-term revenue and upfront payments. The market reaction was immediate: GoDaddy shares plummeted from $92.30 to $79.12 per share by the close of the following day, marking a 14% loss. Investors who acquired stock during the class period may now be eligible to participate in the legal action, which operates on a contingency fee basis.
