Richard Preece Joins Jack Henry Board as Wes Brown Departs

A leadership transition is underway at Jack Henry & Associates, as the Monett-based fintech firm adds Richard N. Preece to its board of directors while preparing for the retirement of long-serving member Wes Brown, who will step down at the company’s upcoming annual meeting in November.

Preece, 51, currently leads the education technology firm Liminex, Inc., known as GoGuardian, where he oversees services for over 25 million students. His background includes a five-year tenure as Chief Operating Officer at LegalZoom and seventeen years in various management roles at Intuit, including a stint as U.S. General Manager for QuickBooks. At Jack Henry, he will serve on the Human Capital & Compensation and Risk & Compliance committees. Board Chair Matt Flanigan cited Preece’s extensive experience in product development and financial service operations as key assets for the company’s strategic direction.

His arrival coincides with the departure of Wes Brown, whose tenure on the board spans two separate terms beginning in 2005. Brown, who leads the Denver-based consultancy Bent St. Vrain & Company, will reach the company’s mandatory retirement age, ending a multi-year run that helped shape the firm's approach to mergers and acquisitions.
