Golden State Dermatology Enters Colorado Market via Summit Acquisition

Colorado Springs-based Summit Dermatology has joined the Golden State Dermatology network, marking a strategic push for the physician-owned group into the Mountain West. The move brings board-certified dermatologists Kevin Whaley and Jeanne Osborn into the fold, expanding a footprint already established across the Central and Western United States.

Patients at the Colorado Springs practice will notice little change, as the existing staff, location, and contact information remain in place. Dr. Kevin Whaley emphasized that the partnership aims to leverage GSD’s operational support while maintaining the clinic’s focus on medical and procedural dermatology, including skin cancer screenings and Mohs micrographic surgery.

Ed Becker, founder of the California-based network, framed the acquisition as a move to scale clinical excellence through a physician-led model. By integrating Summit into its broader infrastructure, Golden State Dermatology continues its trend of absorbing established private practices to compete with larger consolidated networks across the region.
