Cosgrove has built his reputation on high-stakes courtroom advocacy, specifically in medical malpractice, aviation, and transportation cases. His track record includes securing the largest medical malpractice verdict in Illinois history. Beyond his individual success, he serves as the Third Vice President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and maintains an active role in the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

The Best Lawyers organization awards this title to the single practitioner in each practice area who receives the highest overall peer feedback within a specific metropolitan region. This recognition coincides with the inclusion of seventeen other attorneys from Clifford Law Offices in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Since its founding in 1984, the firm has recovered over $5 billion in settlements and verdicts, focusing on complex civil litigation and securing accountability in cases involving significant personal loss.
