The bank plans to execute the repurchases through the Toronto Stock Exchange and other designated trading systems between September 8, 2026, and September 7, 2027. Management maintains discretion over the timing and volume of these acquisitions, which are intended to provide the institution with increased flexibility in managing its capital position. As of July 31, 2026, the bank reported 697,146,398 common shares issued and outstanding, with a public float of 696,863,163 shares. The current buyback program, which began in September 2025, is scheduled to conclude on September 4, 2026. Acquisitions will generally be made at prevailing market prices, though private agreements or exemption orders may allow for purchases at a discount. The initiative remains subject to final oversight by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Canada.
