By establishing a physical presence in New York, the hub provides Indian researchers direct access to a network that includes the Georgia Institute of Technology, Rutgers University, and the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chairman of the AGRH, stated that the platform is designed to move beyond traditional academic boundaries, creating a pipeline that carries research from discovery to commercial application.

Strategic focus areas for the hub include artificial intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and sustainable energy.
