Safer Chemistry Releases Children's Series on Wildfire Defense

Steve Conboy, founder of Safer Chemistry, LTD, is shifting the discourse on forest management and fire safety to a younger audience with his new illustrated series, The Adventures of BigWood and LittleWood. The books aim to educate children on the complexities of lumber, fire-resistant construction, and environmental stewardship.

The series distills technical insights from foresters, fire marshals, and wildfire survivors into a narrative designed for the next generation of stakeholders. Conboy argues that long-term changes in land management and construction practices begin by engaging children who will eventually inherit these landscapes. Rather than focusing on political debate, the books explore the intersection of wood chemistry, carbon storage, and proactive community protection.

Throughout the narrative, the characters examine how fire-resistant construction influences insurance coverage and why reducing toxicity in wood treatments remains a vital conversation for the industry. Beyond the technical scope, the series incorporates historical and scriptural references to trees as significant living entities. Conboy intends for the books to serve as a bridge for firefighters to share their professional experiences with their own families. Profits from the project are earmarked for animal wildfire protection and direct aid to families displaced by blazes. The first installment debuts this month via Kindle Direct Publishing, with further distribution planned for the coming months.
