MV Transportation, a leading private mobility provider, publicly backed the funding package following a year of advocacy work with federal policymakers. Executive Vice President Nicole Thunich stated the investment validates the industry’s push for sustained research into vehicle design and operational practices. The program seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical safety research and practical implementation for transit agencies nationwide. By prioritizing both hardware innovation and operator safety, the FTA intends to create measurable outcomes for communities reliant on public transit systems. MV Transportation plans to leverage these advancements to refine their own service models, which currently span school districts, universities, and municipal transit agencies across the United States and Canada.
