Heritage Health Network Facing Class Action Over Wage Violations

A class action lawsuit filed in Riverside County Superior Court accuses Heritage Health Network of systemic labor code violations, including the failure to provide mandatory rest breaks and accurate wage compensation. The complaint, brought by Zakay Law Group, claims staff were deprived of legally required downtime due to chronic understaffing.

The litigation, case number CVRI2605029, asserts that the health network neglected essential labor obligations under California law. Specifically, the filing alleges that employees were routinely denied ten-minute rest periods during shifts lasting four hours or more, with further failures regarding second and third breaks for longer working days. The lawsuit contends that when these periods were skipped, the employer failed to provide the required one-hour penalty pay in lieu of the break.

Beyond rest periods, the complaint outlines a broader pattern of wage theft and operational misconduct. The plaintiffs allege that Heritage Health Network failed to pay minimum and overtime wages, neglected to provide accurate itemized wage statements, and refused to reimburse staff for necessary business expenses. Furthermore, the suit claims the firm obstructed employees from inspecting their own personnel records. Attorney Jackland Hom is representing the plaintiffs, seeking redress for workers allegedly forced to navigate rigorous schedules without adequate relief or proper compensation.
