Rossdale, who adopted his two-year-old Belgian Malinois-husky mix from Los Angeles Animal Services last year, will anchor the three-month campaign through a series of portraits and videos. The effort coincides with a $2 million grant program from the ASPCA, which will assist 200 participating shelters in waiving adoption fees and offsetting operational costs through October’s Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. According to Christa Chadwick, senior vice president of shelter services, the campaign seeks to transform the public perception of shelter pets by emphasizing that a single adoption creates a necessary opening for another animal in need.
