The funds were generated through a combination of dealership-led activities and contributions from the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) Golf Outing. Since the program launched over a decade ago, these efforts have funneled more than $1.2 million into USO initiatives, supporting nearly 800 events across the region. CATA Chairman Steve Phillipos noted that the campaign remains a testament to the collective impact dealers can achieve when focused on a singular charitable cause.
Christopher Schmidt, USO Area Director for the Midwest and Great Lakes, emphasized that the ongoing partnership provides essential services and vital connections for service members stationed locally. The 2026 campaign officially concluded with a formal check presentation at the USO Great Lakes Center, celebrating the involvement of the 420 franchised dealers that comprise the association. This long-standing commitment continues to offer a steady stream of support for military personnel and their families throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
