The WATCH D3 builds on a decade of development, shifting from basic heart rate tracking to the complex task of wrist-based blood pressure management. Following the 2021 debut of the original Watch D and the 2024 launch of the D2, this new model emphasizes both physical refinement and expanded diagnostic utility. Huawei has reduced the device’s thickness and strap weight, aiming to improve comfort for the 24-hour monitoring cycles that defined its predecessor.
Technological refinements allow the device to capture blood pressure data across a wider range of activities, including measurements taken before and after exercise. The unit has secured CE MDR certification in the European Union, covering stationary, ambulatory, and exercise-based monitoring. Beyond core cardiovascular tracking, the D3 introduces environmental awareness, featuring reminders for high-altitude conditions and rapid temperature shifts. While the device integrates broader wellness metrics—such as sleep and emotional tracking—the company notes that these features serve as supplemental health insights rather than diagnostic tools.
