The project, situated on Gugu Badhun Country southwest of Ingham, will feature 68 wind turbines capable of powering 240,000 homes while offsetting 1.2 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Financing for the development was solidified through a AUD 1.7 billion facility backed by a syndicate of 10 banks. Revenue stability is anchored by long-term offtake agreements with Stanwell and SmartestEnergy, alongside participation in the Australian Government's Capacity Investment Scheme.
Construction is slated to begin immediately, with full operational capacity expected by 2030. Beyond power generation, the venture promises a significant regional economic boost, projecting an injection of over AUD 200 million into the local economy. The development is expected to generate up to 500 direct and indirect jobs throughout the construction phase. CIP acquired the site from Australian developer Windlab, expanding its portfolio to further integrate critical energy infrastructure into the state's grid.
