Founded in 1981, the Colt Group specializes in emergency repair services, including hot tapping, online leak repair, and field machining. These services are essential for industrial and municipal clients aiming to prevent costly, unplanned shutdowns. Under the terms of the agreement, CEO Jason Box and his current executive leadership will remain in their roles and retain a significant equity stake in the business.
Matthew Rich, a partner at LLCP, cited Colt’s reputation for technical expertise and its ability to extend the life of infrastructure assets as primary drivers for the investment. This acquisition marks the fifth platform investment for Levine Leichtman Capital Partners VII, L.P., continuing the firm's history of backing businesses in the infrastructure and industrial services space. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the transaction positions Colt for an expansion of its geographic reach and internal capabilities. Advisors for the deal included Harris Williams and Kirkland & Ellis for the buyer, with Houlihan Lokey and Willkie Farr & Gallagher representing the Colt Group.
