Magaya Integrates PortConnect to Streamline New Zealand Logistics

Freight forwarders in New Zealand can now access real-time container tracking and port data directly within the Magaya Supply Chain platform. The integration with PortConnect eliminates the need for manual data entry and toggling between systems, allowing logistics teams to monitor shipments, vessel schedules, and border clearance statuses from a single interface.

This connectivity, powered by Magaya Connect, automates the flow of critical information including cargo locations, import availability, and agricultural clearance statuses. By centralizing these data points, firms can identify delays or holds faster, improving the speed and accuracy of customer updates. The move follows the recent introduction of Magaya’s dedicated customs compliance tools for the New Zealand market, signaling a broader push to capture local market share.

Mark Buman, Chief Revenue Officer at Magaya, noted that the integration creates a more cohesive workflow for providers struggling with fragmented information. Michele Hansen, Commercial Manager at PortConnect, added that the partnership simplifies access to standardized data for shipping lines and transporters. The combined system covers the full lifecycle of cargo, from initial shipment creation to final customs and port clearance, reducing the administrative burden on operational staff.
