Unlike conventional optical systems limited by lens aperture, Diffraqtion uses quantum estimation theory to resolve features up to 20 times smaller by analyzing the shape of incoming light. This passive approach avoids the need for cryogenics or qubits, focusing instead on extracting deeper intelligence from imagery.

To manage the transition from laboratory prototypes to flight-ready hardware, the firm has tapped Peter Kazlas as Head of Engineering. Kazlas, whose background includes senior roles at E Ink and QD Vision, will oversee the integration of the first fielded camera onto a partner spacecraft. CEO Johannes Galatsanos stated that the technology allows for enhanced mission capability while drastically reducing the size and cost of sensing equipment. Beyond defense applications, investors see potential for the cameras to serve industrial and commercial markets by applying the same physics-based advantages to terrestrial and autonomous systems.
