Relativity Integrates Legal Data Intelligence into Microsoft Copilot

The move addresses a significant industry shift, as 68% of law firms—and 84% of the largest global practices—now utilize Microsoft Copilot as their primary generative AI tool. By leveraging the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Relativity aims to bridge the gap between complex legal data management and the everyday interface of Microsoft 365, allowing users to orchestrate tasks like organizing case data and managing workspace access through simple text commands.

Chris Brown, President of Relativity, noted that the integration provides users with a direct path to action within their existing environment, maintaining tight governance while accelerating administrative speed. Mala Anand, Executive Vice President at Microsoft, emphasized that the collaboration allows firms to better connect enterprise knowledge and data systems. Currently, users can manage legal operations and analyze workspace access via Copilot Cowork and Copilot Chat, with expanded orchestration features slated for release later this year.
