Equipifi Expands BNPL Summit to Tackle Holiday Shopping Surge

The upcoming Insights and Innovation in BNPL 2026 summit, scheduled for October 14-16, reflects a shift in how banks view short-term installment lending. Data from equipifi’s BNPL Index indicates that nearly half of all purchases made during 2025’s Cyber Week came from first-time users, highlighting a critical window for institutions to capture new account holder habits before fintech competitors solidify their market presence.

Key industry analysts warn that traditional banks risk losing deposit relationships if they fail to integrate these payment tools directly into the point of decision. Jim Marous, co-publisher of The Financial Brand, and Cornerstone Advisors’ Tony DeSanctis will headline the event, emphasizing that payment ownership is now a strategic imperative for maintaining low-cost deposits. The summit’s newly added third day provides a tactical roadmap for banks to activate or optimize their internal BNPL programs, ensuring they can match the intentionality fintechs have long applied to consumer transactions.
