Zoomlion Scales European Operations to Deepen Market Integration

Following an August 19 summit at its German facility, Chinese heavy machinery giant Zoomlion has committed to a sweeping expansion of its European footprint. The company aims to overhaul its local service architecture, prioritize spare parts supply chains, and integrate advanced digital tracking to bolster its standing among regional industrial partners.

Chairman and CEO Zhan Chunxin underscored the strategic necessity of this shift during meetings with European clients, who identified service responsiveness and product portfolio depth as critical benchmarks for future cooperation. To address these demands, Zoomlion is launching a digital platform designed to automate service task allocation and provide customers with real-time transparency regarding equipment maintenance and component availability.

Central to this localization strategy is the continued integration of the company’s regional subsidiaries. During a site visit to m-tec on August 25, Zhan reviewed R&D advancements in 3D printing and dry-mix mortar technology, pledging to leverage the group’s global financial and technical resources to fuel m-tec’s growth. This approach mirrors the company’s broader European model, which relies on a network of localized production and technical hubs, including Italy’s CIFA, Germany’s WILBERT and RABE, and an aerial work platform factory in Hungary. By combining these regional assets with centralized group R&D, Zoomlion intends to stabilize its supply chain and shorten the distance between manufacturing and end-user support.
