Named after mathematician Amalie Emmy Noether, the system constructs high-fidelity world models that decompose research problems into verifiable hypothesis trees. By testing these in parallel, Emmy performs tasks that exceed the capacity of traditional research teams, focusing initially on optimizing terrestrial and orbital data center infrastructure.

Beyond commercial data center applications, the startup is serving as a founding technical partner for the Fermi Explorer Mission, the first AI-planned interstellar flight to Alpha Centauri. PSI’s team claims to have already identified a more efficient trajectory for the mission, validating its physics-native reasoning engine. The $58 million investment will support the expansion of its research staff and the continued development of its simulation infrastructure, as the company seeks to tackle foundational physics problems ranging from novel sensing to new compute substrates.
