Enovis Targets Surgical Automation in $245 Million Robotics Deal

Dallas-based medical technology firm Enovis has moved to acquire French surgical robotics specialist eCential Robotics in a deal valued at roughly $245 million. The move signals a strategic push to integrate automation into Enovis’s existing Astra platform, aiming to refine surgical precision and streamline clinical workflows across its global operations.

The transaction includes an initial payment of 176 million euros, or approximately $204 million, slated for completion by the end of this year. An additional 35 million euros remains tied to contingent milestone performance. Management intends to leverage a combination of existing cash reserves and revolving credit facilities to finalize the purchase.

By folding eCential’s specialized robotics into the Astra ecosystem, Enovis seeks to build a more cohesive technological footprint. The company anticipates that this integration will drive better patient outcomes while reducing the operational friction currently faced by surgical teams.
