Recipients are chosen based on their commitment to companion animal health, with the funding covering up to four years of their veterinary education.

Beyond financial aid, the VIN Foundation integrates winners into a broader support network. Awardees gain access to mentorship, mental health resources, and debt management tools provided by the foundation’s existing programs. Candidates interested in the 2027 cycle must submit their applications by October 1, 2026, through the official VIN Foundation portal.
