The 2012 vintage serves as a testament to the house’s patience, having spent over a decade aging on the lees. Composed of 70% Chardonnay from vineyards including Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize, and 30% Pinot Noir from sites like Verzy and Ambonnay, the wine emerged from a challenging growing season. Despite spring frosts and early-year instability, a warm, dry summer allowed for a harvest defined by low yields but exceptional fruit concentration.
Maud Rabin, Directrice of Rare Champagne, described the release as an "ode to joy" that balances depth with radiant freshness. Suckling’s review echoed this sentiment, highlighting the wine's transparency, notes of mango and crushed stone, and a precise, long-lasting finish he likened to haute couture. The bottle is currently available at select retailers and fine dining establishments for a suggested retail price of $250.
