This initiative fits into a larger $129 million capital improvement plan slated for 2026. Scott Wyman, president of West Virginia American Water, noted that proactive investment remains the primary strategy for mitigating future disruptions. Over the last ten years, the company has channeled $805 million into state infrastructure, replacing more than 168 miles of piping. The company maintains that such spending supports broader economic health, estimating that each million dollars invested generates approximately 10 local jobs.
