Haier Biomedical Debuts Automated Cold Storage at ISPE Singapore

At the ISPE Singapore Conference & Exhibition, Haier Biomedical unveiled an automated -80°C storage system alongside its pilot freeze dryer. The move marks a strategic shift for the company, moving beyond standalone low-temperature hardware to offer integrated, data-driven infrastructure for biopharmaceutical research, production, and quality control workflows.

The newly introduced automated storage solution pairs ultra-low-temperature capacity with intelligent sample management, designed to streamline traceability for high-value biological materials. Complementing this, the pilot freeze dryer serves as a bridge for research teams, facilitating the transition from laboratory experimentation to industrial-scale production. During a dedicated session, the company also demonstrated its Smart RFID ULT Storage system. By utilizing compartment antennas and unique RFID identifiers, the technology tracks sample movement and location in real-time, eliminating the need for manual scanning and reducing inventory errors.

This technology stack accommodates diverse sample formats, including cryovials, tubes, and bottles, through customizable internal configurations. The platform integrates identity and storage conditions into a unified digital record, aimed at bolstering chain-of-custody protocols across pharmaceutical supply chains. The shift toward these connected ecosystems mirrors a broader growth strategy for the firm. In the first half of 2026, revenue from pharmaceutical-focused clients rose by 23%, while laboratory solutions saw a 19% increase. AI-integrated services now represent 18% of the company's total revenue, reflecting a transition toward automated, scenario-specific infrastructure for global research organizations.
