Imperative Logistics Acquires RM Customhouse Brokers to Boost Border Trade

With nearly $150 billion in annual trade flowing through the El Paso–Ciudad Juárez corridor, the stakes for efficient cross-border logistics have never been higher. Imperative Logistics has moved to secure its position in this vital manufacturing hub by acquiring the long-standing RM Customhouse Brokers.

The acquisition integrates RM’s 78-year history of trade compliance and bonded warehousing into the broader Imperative Logistics network. For RM’s clients, the transition promises continuity, as the existing team remains in place while gaining access to the parent company’s global forwarding and integrated logistics infrastructure. This move follows the recent appointment of Jose D. Gonzalez, a licensed customs broker, signaling a strategic focus on deepening the firm's technical trade expertise.

Dante Fornari, CEO of Imperative Logistics, identified the El Paso gateway as a critical asset for U.S.-Mexico trade, noting the region's concentration of over 330 maquiladora plants. Elvia Miles Doyle, President and Co-Owner of RM Customhouse Brokers, emphasized that the partnership scales their service capabilities without sacrificing the personalized attention that has defined the firm since 1948. The consolidation reflects a broader trend of logistics providers aggressively expanding their customs brokerage footprints to navigate increasingly complex international trade environments.
