Wise arrives as the campus moves beyond its initial development phase, shifting from a construction project into a functioning civic institution. His mandate includes managing the property, fostering partnerships among the various organizations housed on-site, and stewarding the facility as a permanent resource for the East Bay community.

Steven Douglas, chair of the Campus Board, noted that the initiative aims to build a lasting community anchor rather than merely managing real estate. Wise will operate alongside Susie Cohen Crumpler, the CEO of the JCC East Bay. Cohen Crumpler, who led the campus efforts since September 2025, will now dedicate her focus to the growth of the JCC East Bay and its transition into the new space. The two leadership teams will maintain distinct roles, with the JCC focusing on its core programming while the campus leadership manages the broader institutional environment.
