Allegion Launches Mobile App for Automated Door Management

Installers no longer need to climb ladders or remove heavy covers to calibrate security hardware. Allegion has introduced its Optimize mobile application, debuting with the LCN Senior Swing Series Auto Operator to streamline device maintenance, diagnostics, and firmware updates through a single, unified Bluetooth-enabled interface for facility managers.

The application marks a shift in how facility teams interact with connected security hardware. By moving calibration and troubleshooting controls to a smartphone, Allegion aims to reduce the physical friction traditionally associated with device commissioning. The tool provides real-time access to error codes and system notifications, allowing users to address potential malfunctions before escalating issues to technical support.

This release arrives as the industry faces a significant turnover in its workforce. Emily Zentz, product manager for automatic operators at Allegion, noted that with nearly half of the facility management sector expected to retire by 2033, modernizing the user experience is critical for incoming professionals. The Optimize platform is engineered to scale, with plans already underway to integrate additional electronic locks and automatic operators into the system later this year. The application is currently available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
