Broadridge Expands Distributed Ledger Repo Platform to G7 Securities

Broadridge Financial Solutions is scaling its Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) network to include G7 securities, marking a shift toward globalizing institutional tokenized financing. By enabling cross-border atomic settlement, the platform aims to reduce the operational friction that traditionally hampers international repo transactions and collateral mobility.

The expansion follows a period of heavy platform usage, with DLR processing an average of $351 billion in daily repo transactions throughout August 2026. By incorporating G7 assets, the firm moves beyond its existing support for U.S. Treasury collateral, allowing institutions to mobilize a broader range of high-quality assets across various jurisdictions and currencies. This integration is designed to work within established trading and post-trade workflows, effectively synchronizing the movement of cash and tokenized securities.

Horacio Barakat, Global Head of Digital Innovation at Broadridge, described the DLR as a functional market infrastructure rather than a theoretical project. The platform’s ability to execute intraday repo activity and collateral pledges through atomic settlement provides firms with more precise control over liquidity and capital management. To increase market transparency, Broadridge has partnered with Kaiko, making aggregated DLR data—including trade counts and turnover—accessible to Bloomberg Terminal subscribers. This move provides institutional investors with a view of on-chain activity alongside traditional fixed-income data.
