The acquisition is set to bolster cbdMD’s financial footprint, with combined trailing twelve-month revenues for the entities reaching approximately $30 million. By absorbing Twinlab’s extensive retail reach—which spans 50,000 outlets including GNC and The Vitamin Shop—cbdMD intends to reduce its reliance on the volatile hemp-derived product market. The transaction remains subject to court approval and customary closing conditions.
CEO Ronan Kennedy noted that the move provides a stable path for Twinlab’s legacy products, allowing the parent company to leverage its ecommerce and marketing resources to revitalize the heritage brands. Twinlab, founded in 1968, brings a diverse range of categories to the platform, from sports nutrition and weight management to longevity-focused supplements like collagen and resveratrol. Following the integration of Bluebird Botanicals, this acquisition signals a strategic pivot for cbdMD as it transitions into a comprehensive consumer wellness company.
