Corporate Data Integration Grows While Insight Satisfaction Declines

While nearly half of organizations successfully integrated their consumer data by 2026, overall satisfaction with internal insights functions dropped to 48%. According to new research from Zappi, simply centralizing data is no longer sufficient, as businesses struggle to turn technical connectivity into actionable, high-quality decision-making.

Zappi’s Connected Insights Imperative 2026 study highlights a widening gap between technological adoption and actual business value. Although 93% of organizations now utilize AI, only 8% have reached the "AI-Accelerated" stage, where technology is used to surface specific insights at critical decision points rather than merely improving general efficiency. This disconnect has contributed to a decline in internal satisfaction, which fell from 60% in 2025 to 48% this year.

The findings suggest that maturity on the "Connected Insights" curve dictates team morale. Organizations classified as AI-Accelerated report a 75% satisfaction rate, compared to just 9% among those with disconnected systems. Beyond the technical infrastructure, a cultural friction persists between departments: 46% of brand managers claim they integrate consumer feedback before creative development, yet only 15% of insights professionals share that assessment.

To bridge this divide, Zappi proposes a "Connected Insights Flywheel" model, which aims to link research across innovation, advertising, and brand strategy. Nataly Kelly, CMO at Zappi, emphasized that the ultimate payoff remains human-centric. While AI can speed up the process, the competitive advantage lies in the quality of decisions made when consumer knowledge is cumulative rather than siloed.
