The transaction grants CPP Investments a controlling 51% stake, with Equinix holding approximately 34% and Partners Group acquiring a 10% interest. The remaining equity stays with internal stakeholders. To fuel immediate expansion, the group secured a $4.1 billion financing package from a syndicate of European and Canadian lenders.

atNorth currently operates eight facilities across the Nordic countries, with an aggressive pipeline of new projects in Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark. The company will continue to function as an independent brand, leveraging Equinix's global network and CPP Investments' capital to scale its renewable-energy-powered data centers. For the new owners, the acquisition serves as a strategic bet on the Nordics as a primary hub for sustainable, AI-ready digital infrastructure.
