PVFARM Launches RE PILOT for Utility-Scale Solar Optimization

Newport Beach-based PVFARM has launched RE PILOT, a commercial platform designed to unify the design of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. By consolidating layout, storage sizing, and financial modeling into a single workflow, the tool aims to replace fragmented manual processes that currently slow down early-stage project development.

Developers and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms often struggle with disconnected tools when balancing grid constraints, battery sizing, and site layouts. RE PILOT addresses this by allowing teams to test thousands of configurations simultaneously, surfacing trade-offs between energy yield and project economics before moving into detailed engineering. The platform integrates with the existing PVFARM and RE STACK tools, creating a continuous pipeline from initial concept to final design.

Development of the platform relied on feedback from over 150 hours of consultations with 60 organizations and beta testing with 80 companies. According to Maksim Markevich, Co-Founder and CTO of PVFARM, the system enables teams to solve complex configuration questions in minutes rather than weeks. For project managers like Cam Connolly of McCarthy Building Companies, the software provides a way to rapidly identify promising concepts that align with specific client priorities and site conditions, ensuring that performance and constructability are prioritized from the outset.
