Vanta Diagnostics Boosts Lab Capacity Through AI Integration

By deploying the Onymos DocKnow platform, Vanta Diagnostics has successfully automated its laboratory intake process, achieving a 72% increase in operational efficiency. This collaboration addresses critical bottlenecks in molecular diagnostics, allowing the lab to process 300 additional samples daily while cutting human-induced accessioning errors by 40%.

The partnership targets the persistent friction found in laboratory workflows, where complex test requirements and staffing shortages often lead to cascading errors. Instead of simple digitization, the DocKnow platform interprets clinical requisitions and validates data against multiple sources before integration. This shift has reduced requisition processing times to approximately one minute per document.

Mary Katherine DiFilippo, Director of Specimen Analytics at Vanta, noted that the objective extended beyond mere speed. By refining information quality and staff workflows, the laboratory turned its intake process into a scalable asset. The implementation supports Vanta’s broader strategy to align operational systems with its diagnostic capabilities, ensuring that data quality directly correlates with financial health and reduced claim denials. Onymos CEO Shiva Nathan emphasized that this result highlights a transition toward practical, ROI-focused AI applications that prioritize compliance and turnaround times over theoretical innovation.
