Corgi Insurance Enters Reinsurance Market With Corgi Re Platform

Moving to disrupt a sector still reliant on manual spreadsheets and decades-old manual processes, AI-native carrier Corgi Insurance has launched Corgi Re. The new platform aims to inject modern underwriting technology and operational speed into the global reinsurance market, a critical financial backbone for primary insurers.

The reinsurance industry has historically favored slow, relationship-heavy underwriting cycles that prioritize tradition over digital integration. Corgi Re intends to bridge this gap by applying the company’s existing AI-driven infrastructure to risk assessment and capital deployment. According to Jeremy Eisemann, Head of Government Affairs at Corgi, the strategy focuses on enhancing decision-making speed through better data rather than removing the human element that anchors the market.

By expanding upstream, Corgi shifts its focus from direct insurance for startups toward providing capacity and risk management solutions to other insurance carriers. The new division will operate within the company’s established regulatory framework, leveraging the same lean operating model that has helped the firm raise over $378 million to date. This move marks a significant evolution for the San Francisco-based company, which currently maintains a global presence across major hubs including New York, London, and Chicago.
