HPE Profit Surges Fivefold as AI Infrastructure Demand Accelerates

Hewlett Packard Enterprise reported a more than fivefold increase in quarterly profit, signaling that aggressive investments in artificial intelligence are finally reshaping the company's bottom line. The strong performance, fueled by a surge in server and networking sales, prompted management to hike long-term growth targets for investors.

HPE Profit Surges Fivefold as AI Infrastructure Demand Accelerates

The company posted a profit of $1.54 billion for the quarter ended July 31, a sharp climb from $305 million during the same period last year. Revenue reached $12.21 billion, comfortably beating analyst estimates of $11.97 billion. Chief Financial Officer Marie Myers attributed the success to a portfolio aligned with current market needs, noting that the company is poised to announce two multi-billion-dollar deals—one focusing on enterprise AI and another on data-center networking—that closed shortly after the quarter ended.

Driving the gains, the Cloud & AI segment saw revenue rise 25% to $9.04 billion, led by a 35% jump in server sales. The networking division performed even more aggressively, surging 75% to $2.89 billion, a result Myers linked to the successful integration of Juniper Networks. Given this momentum, HPE raised its full-year revenue growth forecast to a range of 34% to 37%, while simultaneously lifting its fiscal 2027 outlook to between 13% and 17%. Adjusted earnings per share for the current year are now projected to land between $3.75 and $3.85, exceeding previous expectations.
