The collection launches on September 3 with a coin featuring the iconic Vulcan salute and the inscription "Live Long & Prosper." A second edition, scheduled for November, will showcase four legendary spacecraft, including the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656 and the Klingon Bird of Prey. To mirror the vibrant uniforms that once defined the show’s shift to color television, some versions of the coins incorporate swirling blue and purple nebulas designed to evoke the vastness of deep space.
Tim Mulhall, Head of Fandom at The Royal Mint, described the project as a tribute to fans who have followed the series across its six-decade lifespan. The franchise remains a cultural juggernaut, encompassing 12 series, 14 films, and a dedicated global following that includes over 400,000 people currently studying the Klingon language on Duolingo. Collectors can purchase the coins through the Royal Mint website starting at £19.95.
