The company’s total net revenues reached RMB 2.49 billion, weighed down by persistent domestic challenges. Management cited weak consumer sentiment and a slow recovery for broadcasters on the flagship Momo app as primary factors for the top-line contraction. While domestic performance remained strained, the company’s international portfolio served as a vital counterbalance. Revenues from overseas markets surged by 52% year-over-year to RMB 672.7 million, driven by the expansion of social entertainment brands in the Middle East and North Africa.
Operational adjustments accompanied the financial results. The board of directors appointed Jianhua Wen as the new chief operating officer, effective September 3. Wen, a veteran of the firm since 2011, previously served as chief technology officer and oversaw the development of the company’s AI department. Looking ahead, the company provided a cautious outlook for the third quarter, projecting revenue between RMB 2.4 billion and RMB 2.5 billion.
