According to Erica Maurer, partner and co-founder of EMRG Media, the initiative focuses on recognizing those who drive industry change through new ideas and exceptional execution, rather than relying solely on name recognition.

Selection and Recognition

The selection process balances community engagement with professional assessment, as public voting accounts for 50% of the criteria, while an editorial panel determines the remaining half. Candidates have until September 18, 2026, to submit their applications. Following the announcement of the honorees on October 7, the selected leaders will be formally recognized on stage during The Event Planner Expo in New York City, scheduled for October 27–29. These individuals will also receive VIP credentials for the three-day event, which traditionally hosts thousands of industry professionals, corporate decision-makers, and prominent keynote speakers.
