The new members include Canonical, Dojo Five, GigaDevice, Morse Micro, Northern.tech, Siemens, and Space Cubics. Their involvement reflects a strategic move to support the full lifecycle of embedded products, from initial firmware architecture and security to long-term deployment and software maintenance. By integrating these diverse technical perspectives, the project aims to stabilize Zephyr as a reliable standard for developers moving away from fragmented, proprietary approaches.

To mark this milestone, the project will host its inaugural Community Awards during the Zephyr Developer Summit in Prague, scheduled for October 7-9. These awards recognize the contributors and maintainers who have shaped the operating system over the last decade. Kate Stewart, vice president of dependable embedded systems at the Linux Foundation, noted that the project’s success relies on the continuous cycle of investment from corporate members and the practical, hands-on experience provided by the global developer community.
