The partnership marks a significant transition for the brand, which currently operates 10 locations across New York alongside its seafood-focused sibling, Los Mariscos. While financial terms remain under wraps, the deal aims to expand the chain’s footprint to new cities without compromising the simplicity that defined its initial success. TSG brings a track record of scaling consumer-facing brands, including a previous stake in Dutch Bros Coffee, which successfully transitioned to the public market following the firm's involvement.
Despite the influx of capital, the leadership structure remains unchanged. Co-founder and CEO Christian Pineda, working alongside Chief Operating Partner Jacobo Ackerman, will retain control over strategic decisions and daily operations. The company emphasized that the expansion will prioritize maintaining the integrity of their original menu and shop atmosphere as they introduce their concept to a broader audience.
