Beyond his new financial oversight duties, he will maintain his current responsibilities as president of land-based casino operations and retain his seat on the board of directors. Papanier’s history with the firm dates back to 2004, when he originally joined as chief operating officer, followed by a decade-long stint as president and CEO from 2011 to 2021.
Mircheva’s exit triggers a formal search for a permanent successor. While she steps down from her executive vice president and CFO roles on September 4, she remains with the organization until September 30 to assist with the leadership handoff. The board has already commenced the process of identifying a long-term replacement to stabilize the financial leadership team.
