Barclays Opens Singapore Booking Hub to Capture Asian Wealth

With the launch of a new private bank booking centre in Singapore, Barclays is pivoting to capture a larger slice of the Asia-Pacific wealth market. The British lender aims to bridge local financial infrastructure with its global network, catering to clients who demand seamless, cross-border asset management and complex wealth planning services.

The new facility allows high-net-worth individuals to access banking, lending, and investment services while maintaining connectivity to the firm’s international hubs. According to the bank, this expansion addresses the growing demand for advice that spans multiple jurisdictions and asset classes, mirroring a broader shift toward globalized capital flows and investment activity.

Alexander Harrison, Barclays’ country CEO for Singapore and interim head of private banking, described the move as a long-term commitment to the region. He noted that the city-state remains a pivotal player in the global wealth landscape, providing the necessary foundation for the bank to serve increasingly international client needs.
