Willener arrives at Veraxa with a career spanning over three decades in financial management and the biopharmaceutical sector. His most recent tenure was at Exentis Group, where he served as director of corporate development before assuming the role of chief financial officer earlier in 2025.

He succeeds Carl von Halem, who had been managing the firm’s finances on an interim basis. Von Halem stepped in after the departure of Torsten Burgermeister, who held the CFO position from 2022 until his resignation in July.
