The project targets a massive magnetic anomaly containing over 20 billion tonnes of high-grade iron ore, valued at approximately $2.5 trillion. By establishing this vital logistics corridor, A&S Resources aims to bypass the infrastructure bottlenecks that have long stifled the development of CAR’s mineral sector. The dual-track rail system is engineered to handle 250,000 tonnes of cargo daily, with a built-in capacity to scale up to 300,000 tonnes as extraction operations expand.

Technical and topographical surveys are already underway to prepare for the start of construction. A&S Resources has tapped China Railway Sixth Group Co., Ltd—a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited—to manage the physical build. With a track record of delivering over 6,200 kilometers of rail infrastructure across Africa, the firm is expected to begin full-scale operational mobilization by the close of 2026. Beyond iron ore, the new route serves as a strategic artery for the export of copper, rare earth elements, and other critical minerals essential to global supply chains.
